Asiko Peeled Beans

Asiko Peeled Beans is a clean peeled milled beans used for dishes such as Moimoi and  Akara

Asiko Peeled Beans is good to make dish like Moimoi. Moimoi is a rich steamed beans cake eaten all over Nigeria and beyond.

How to make Moi Moi

It is rather served with Ogi .We eat Ogi with Jollof rice or on its own. Also it is a rich source of protein. It is the perfect weight losing meal with a good filling effect. Also referred as steamed beans pudding, or bean sponge cake. Moimoi is from blended soaked, peeled brown beans. Asiko Peeled Beans – How to make 

Ingredients:

•2 Cups Brown Beans

•3 Chili pepper “Shombo” – Optional

•2 Red bell pepper “Tatashey”

•2 Scotch bonnet pepper “Ata rodo” •Also 1 small Red onion

•2 Seasoning cubes , Crushed

•Salt to taste

•Rather add vegetable oil or palm oil

Procedure:

First of all, soak the peeled beans in water for rather 10 mins or less. Also do not soak beans for a longer period. Otherwise the skin will stick to the body. Making it difficult to peel. Furthermore, it will be easy to peel your soaked beans. To peel your beans rub them between your hands. Finally, rinse your beans and remove  floating skins from the top of the water. Finally, sieve the brown skin out with clean water. Finally, drain the water less the beans.

Finally, put the Asiko grains into a blender. And add water and pulse the blender for about 5 minutes. This method doesn’t break the beans.  But instead removes the skin. Sieve the brown skin out with clean water leaving the white part of the beans.
